The Strider™ PREbike teaches children balance and coordination in a secure learning situation. The bike’s low seating allows children to place both feet firmly on the ground, providing them confidence and control. The Strider™’s light weight adds to this feeling of control. Because kids feel secure, their natural curiosity kicks in and they quickly learn to steer and to balance. They are not afraid, but enthusiastic and eager to try new skills and to push themselves.
With the Strider™ there are no “trike tip-overs” or “training-wheel wobbles” to create fear, hesitancy, or rejection of biking. Remember your first training-wheeled bicycle? The bike wobbled from side to side and you were so high up that you couldn’t touch the ground. It was terrifying. With the Strider™ PREbike the need for tricycles or training wheels is completely eliminated, along with the accompanying fear factor. The Strider™ is the only vehicle you will ever need to teach your child or grandchild how to ride a bike and to instil in him or her, a deep love of biking.
The Strider Brand Story
Strider Sports International Inc. was founded in 2007, beginning a revolution in how very young children learn to ride on two wheels. The revolution that first started in the United States quickly spread around the world, with Strider Balance Bikes being sold in Japan in 2009 and Europe in 2010.
Strider believes in not only their exceptional products, but also that a bike is more than just a “thing” – it’s a community! In 2011 Strider hosted the first Strider World Championship race, bringing together children from 2 to 5 years old from all over the world in friendly competition. The fun didn’t stop there. Currently Strider Cup races are run all over the globe with riders who are just starting out to seasoned Strider riders who give it their all on the race course.
In 2012 the Strider Bike became a tool for year-round fun, even when there is snow on the ground, with the launch of the Strider Ski Accessory.
2013 and 2014 became all about celebrating success and giving back. Strider Education and the Strider Rider Fund were established. These programs provide freedom on two wheels to individuals who might not otherwise have that chance.
Parents from all over the world have made it clear how much they love Strider and the Strider philosophy, and in 2015 the 1 millionth Strider Balance Bike was sold! Parents have continued to show their support for Strider by making it the #1 selling balance bike brand.
In 2016, even younger children were able to begin their riding journey with the Strider Rocking Base. By equipping a Strider Balance Bike with a Rocking Base, children as young as 12 months old can begin using their Strider to learn balance and coordination!
Through innovation, education, support and engagement, Strider has built the best balance bike on the market today. The Strider Bike develops two-wheeled balance, coordination, and confidence in children better than anything else available.
